The king of adaptations, Vishal Bharadwaj (also directed Kaminey) is back with another potential masterpiece – 7 Khoon Maaf (Seven Murders Forgiven). The ace director/music director/dialogues writer/lyricist has earned quite a name for himself by carrying out the unenviable task of translating adaptations (mainly Shakespearean) into the silver screen with unusual dexterity and finesse. Most of his previous directorial ventures, notably Makdee (2002), Maqbool (2004), Omkara (2006) and The Blue Umbrella (2007) have been successful book adaptations, garnering rave reviews from most Hindi film critics.
Bharadwaj's latest movie 7 Khoon Maaf is a thriller based on Ruskin Bond's famous short story Susanna's Seven Husbands. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Vishal Bhardwaj. UTV Motion Pictures and VB Pictures Pvt. Ltd will be the banner under which the movie would be released on February 18, 2011.
